When I paint I get lost and absorbed, time is weightless and my mind is engaged in the now.   I work freely and intuitively in the moment, leaving behind angst and just enjoying the creative process.   There's something about the brush strokes on canvas that's therapeutic to me.   I love color the way some people love chocolate.   While painting en plein air, I work quickly to capture a freshness, many times alla prima (in one sitting).   I like acrylics because of their versatility, practicality and vividness--but have worked in other mediums as well; oil, pastel,...more
